Overview

Blaze is a social platform designed for adults seeking authentic digital communities and meaningful conversations. The project focused on creating a cohesive brand identity that feels approachable, modern, and easy to recognize while maintaining clarity across digital interfaces.

Challenge & Approach

The Challenge

Many social platforms rely on visually busy, trend-driven styles that can feel overwhelming or impersonal.

Blaze required a brand identity that could:

  • feel welcoming and community-focused
  • maintain clarity across digital environments
  • appeal to mature users who value simplicity
  • remain flexible across web, mobile, and marketing materials

The Goal

The design strategy focused on clarity, warmth, and consistency to create a calmer, more welcoming experience.

Key priorities included:

  • creating a recognizable logo system
  • establishing a clear color and typography hierarchy
  • designing an approachable visual language
  • ensuring flexibility across digital and print applications

Logo Exploration

Early sketches explored different visual directions for the Blaze symbol, focusing on themes of energy, conversation, and connection. These explorations helped identify a symbol that felt dynamic yet simple enough to remain recognizable across digital environments.

Logo System

The final logo combines a clean wordmark with a symbol built from connected nodes forming a lowercase “b,” representing interaction, community, and digital connectivity. The identity system was designed to remain clear and recognizable across both digital and print applications. Usage guidelines define spacing, color contrast, and consistent presentation to maintain a cohesive brand presence.

The Blaze typography system focuses on clarity, modern simplicity, and digital readability. A clean sans-serif typeface supports the brand’s contemporary identity while ensuring consistent hierarchy across headings, body text, and interface elements.

Nunito

Nunito is used for headings and interface elements. Its rounded forms create a friendly tone while maintaining strong clarity and readability.

Inter

Inter is used for body text and longer content. Designed for screen readability, it ensures clear and comfortable reading across digital interfaces.

Brand Application

The identity system was designed to extend naturally across digital interfaces and marketing materials. Consistent use of color, typography, and spacing helps maintain brand recognition across platforms.
